In this video for FRM Part I and FRM Part II, we explore the Vasicek Model for determining the credit risk capital for a portfolio of loans. This model appears in FRM Part I (Valuation and Risk Models, Measuring Credit Risk chapter) and FRM Part II (Credit Risk section and Operational Risk section). The Vasicek (1987) model. We start recalling the credit risk model developed in Vasicek (1987). This model is the base for the Basel regulatory capital requirements and it is also widely used in the financial industry, see Gordy (2003), Glasserman and Li (2005), and Voropaev (2011), among others.
